David Davis has not been in govt for almost 20 years and it shows. The man really does not have a clue. Saying we can have trade deals completed in 2 years while still in the EU shows this. I am really coming round to the view that he's been set up to fail just like Frank Field was with all his noble welfare reform ideas.

Why can't we agree trade deals with single nations in 2 years?

I accept we can't legally sign until we have left, but we aren't dependent on 27 other countries having to agree with us.

The EU negotiates as a group, not as independent countries. Else it would be impossible to have an EU trade deal as the terms with each member would be different.

EU member states CAN NOT negotiate trade deals with other countries. We can only do such negotiations once OUT of the EU.
