Not when you have to register in the town you live in - and deregister when you move. They're not too harsh in the policing. If it will cause genuine hardship, there's leeway. However, it's a bit of a pain if you've been here nine years (non-EU get permanent residency after 10), and then have to leave through no fault of your own. For EU citizens it's 5 years - and Swiss law says that if you're already here, if your home country pulls out of free movement, you'll retain your rights and privileges. So Brexit won't affect UK citizens living here.

One of the things I really like about the UK is that you don't have this type of control.

This is actually great for us especially as they voted "No".

I hope another EU country follows suit.

Not working out too well though is it? Hungarians have probably realised that referendums destroy countries...https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...t-poll-results
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Maybe you could have had a referendum in 39 to decide not to invade Poland.

That tulip kind of destroys countries quicker than a referendum.

Legally invalid. Turnout too low - less than 50%.

Unfortunately the EU Commission is only offering a take it or leave it package
Odd, I thought they'd decreed that there were to be no discussions until A50 was triggered?

Actually they didn't. The majority didn't vote at all, the referendum was null and void as a result. The only one claiming it as a victory is the president who has a history of autocratic, dictatorial rulings, who spent vast amounts of money on it and still didn't get the result he wanted.

Yes indeed - did the other 50% not vote out of fear?

                    Out of fear of what?

They didn't vote because the opposition parties urged their supporters to boycott the vote. Which they did. A far more effective way of getting the message across, IMO.

I don't think so. To the outsider it gives the impression that they don't care. They should be thankful they didn't reach the 50% turnout.
