well do they make the country a profit overall would be my starting premise.

If we have a lowly paid worker displace a local worker its not really a profit. If we have a self supporting retiree spending more money than they cost I would consider that a profit.

Ahh but it's a well known fact local worker prefers state benefits than lowly pay.

Indeed many of the city's employees are not British. Banks, the bastille of the British economy, are well known for employing EU nationals who speak more than one language and for their preferred worldly experience.

nope accusing everyone of being racist isn't a trump card anymore.

local employees prefer earning enough to keep them to the style they are accustomed. They aren't prepared to live 6 to a room like their competitors who come here for a couple of years to make their fortune.

This pretty much sums up the intelligence level of the "Leavers".

They think that by parroting or mirroring moves they somehow can win, tried that strategy in chess?
In no way could that be switched around and passed off as something sasguru would post though.

Both sides wheeling out the "only a cretin would vote that way" line. Very sad to see.

There is only one known fact that I've seen. We save net £280m/week on membership fees. Everything else is fear, speculation and propaganda. Given the £280m/week headstart, will an exit be better overall for the country is the crux of the matter. Nobody can say for definite.

Well I suppose that'll go someway to offset out weekly £1.2 billion payments on debt interest.

But then, for UK farmers, is the roughly £2.5 to £3bn a year - varying according to the euro exchange rate - that farmers receive from Brussels., which is £250 m/week.

Ok we're now saving £30 million a week to give up all the privileges we enjoy by being members. A cost that doesn't even amount to a couple of banker bonuses.

I think we should focus on our debt rather than our neighbours.

Sadly not, although it largely remains a fact regarding most outers.... It doesn't take much pushing before you get them ranting like a BNP activist. Farage and his croonies are notoriously bad at hiding their true feelings for example.

The style they're accustomed is a fabricated illusion. An apparition conjured out of thin air based on cheap debt, cheap imports, and unrealistic asset prices. All of which is zip to do with the EU.

Our service based economy we've raced towards without consideration of our foundations in manufacturing has left us floundering and irritable. We seem only able to scream 'we can't compete with that'. Yet our Norwegian neighbours manufacture quality products at high cost with strong exports.

I really don't know how we became so apathetic.

I suppose the equivalent is nasty little quislings for the remains.
