More likely they haven't forgotten Palomares: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1966_Palomares_B-52_crash
England's greatest sailor since Nelson lost the armada.

So much for our NATO friends as well. The Spanish have been playing silly b*ggers over Gibraltar for years.

Yeah. I was on holiday in south Spain a few years ago and it took hours to get into Gibraltar for a day trip. All the Spanish were stuck queued up at the border too trying to get in for their jobs.

At least the coach had aircon. Saw the UK Navy and Spanish patrol boats chasing each other around a bit, but no warning shots exchanged that time.

Way around it is to fly straight onto Gibraltar. You drive/walk across the runway on the way in, which feels strange.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

US sub should have just sunk the boat provided they'd been given warning. I doubt it would cause much of an incident. Spain is hardly going to go to war or impose sanctions on the US.

As long Britain was left out it.

To be fair to the Spanish their boat is much cooler than ours.

What sort of boat could we have if we were £350,000,000 a week better off?

It might appear to be "cool" to some but it's hardly effective. The drug smuggler that can't outrun a GC patrol boat is a very rare creature. The USS Florida should have treated it as enemy and dealt with it.
