To be fair to the Spanish their boat is much cooler than ours.

US sub should have just sunk the boat provided they'd been given warning. I doubt it would cause much of an incident. Spain is hardly going to go to war or impose sanctions on the US.
As long Britain was left out it.

Yeah. I was on holiday in south Spain a few years ago and it took hours to get into Gibraltar for a day trip. All the Spanish were stuck queued up at the border too trying to get in for their jobs.
At least the coach had aircon. Saw the UK Navy and Spanish patrol boats chasing each other around a bit, but no warning shots exchanged that time.
Way around it is to fly straight onto Gibraltar. You drive/walk across the runway on the way in, which feels strange.
