This should raise serious concerns about Egypt's airport security should it prove that:- The guy really does have a bomb
- He managed to get into the cockpit
Ofcourse, if it turns out that he isn't carrying and just bluffing, question would still need to be asked if he managed to access the cockpit (unless he accessed it via threatening the crew and passengers)
Either way, this doesn't look good for Egypt.Comment

Wasn't Egyptair the one with the suicidal pilot some years ago? Put the plane in a deliberate dive and killed everyone.Originally posted by jbond007 View PostThis should raise serious concerns about Egypt's airport security should it prove that:- The guy really does have a bomb

Not that religion is the sole cause of dodgy pilots as GermanWings shows...Hard Brexit now!

I haven't seen any reports suggesting he got into the cockpit during flight. If he gets control of the cabin crew by claiming to have a bomb, and tells the flight crew over the intercom he's going to blow up the plane if they don't land in Cyprus, they'll take the plane to Cyprus. There's no need to access the cockpit to get a plane to fly anywhere in range, as long as you can get a convincing-looking device on boardOriginally posted by jbond007 View PostThis should raise serious concerns about Egypt's airport security should it prove that:- The guy really does have a bomb

Standing orders for hijack situations is to assume the threat is real, do what you are told, and get the plane on the ground as soon as possible."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment

I thought since 9/11 the correct action was to overpower the "hijacker" on the grounds that he really just wants to kill everyone.Originally posted by DaveB View PostOr just convince the cabin crew you might have done.
