Own teeth? Hmm, that could be expensive if she needs regular dental treatment and teeth whitening etc.Originally posted by I just need to test it View PostAlthough I took a huge hit following my divorce I reckon it saved me money in the long run.
Wife #2 is a financial whizz, as well as having her own house and teeth
It would probably be cheaper if she had a pair of false gnashers.

35 now, planning to retire at 57 (unless they change the rules again and push out the earliest date you can drawer your pension)
From late 40's/early 50's I will start to reduce the number of months I work in a year so in the years before drawing my pension I hope to be 6 months on 6 months off which I will continue to whilst drawing the pensionOriginally posted by Stevie Wonder BoyI can't see any way to do it can you please advise?
I want my account deleted and all of my information removed, I want to invoke my right to be forgotten.Comment

I've got a nasty feeling that I have retired...
After nearly 20 years contracting in Legal and Financial I turned down a good extension last year and keep fobbing off any calls from agents. Spent a month last year touring France in the Motorhome and three weeks on the Thames in the boat.
At 51 I'm too young to draw down any pensions, but I have enough income from investments/property to get by (just about), still got a mortgage but stacks of equity in the house so easy enough to move outside the M25 to a mortgage free (and better!) place. Divorce paid for and over, (private) schooling paid for and over. Contracting has been great for me, but I get the distinct feeling that the glory days are over - might all be relative of course - but I CBA with it any more.
Retirement is different things to different people. Whilst touring around I have written my first novel (touting it to agents now, don't seem to be able to get away from them) and a quarter of the way into the second. It's actually harder work than I thought it would be, and at best I would expect about a month's contracting income in a year, but I don't think I'll be swapping it back for 'the daily stand-up'.
It's very difficult to guage how much money you need for how much life you have left, but there's a lot more to life than money, and I don't reckon you'll need much beyond about 75; even if you've still got your health it'll be a weekly pint of stout down the British Legion... or a gallon of stella in Benidorm which costs about the same (c;Comment

I'm mid 40s now and have passive income of 25k a year.
Looking at a shop later this week to buy the Freehold which will either give me a further boost in income or one I can use for myself.
I was going to stop in June, but the share price in
Clientco just wiped out 200k before tax, so will wait a bit longer now.
