in late thirties....
10 years from now I could be retired...
if no private school, then in 5 years!
but private school has scuppered me....or rather I've accepted working 5 more years for my children having hopefully a better education....
won't be living it up large like some, but will get by...in all honesty will probably continue to contract part time anyways....Comment

38, and to be honest haven't a clue when I can retire. I have 10 years in a very decent final salary scheme, and I try to toss a little into a SIPP; but I'm focused more on living today than for tomorrow. Aiming for a bigger house, kids through private school. Those are my priorities. Fairly new to contracting, so the medium bucks are a recent thing for me.Comment

For me @ 28 this is a pretty scary question, as it seems likely a lot of 'generation y' will be working till we drop. This is why I started looking into contracting in the first place, one of the biggest appeals being able to have T̶o̶n̶s̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶e̶x̶t̶r̶a̶ ̶c̶a̶s̶h̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶p̶1̶s̶s̶ ̶u̶p̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶w̶a̶l̶l̶ a future that wasn't dependant on me working to the grave... I would be disappointed in myself if I was still grinding away full time in 20 years.Comment
