I don't know what the Mail has written on the subject today, but the number of refugees Britain takes in is pretty small. It's also pretty hard to get here given you have to cross through many other countries which have started closing their borders, so those refugees that do come here are arriving through agencies. Believe it or not there are international conventions Britain is signatory to which require taking a share of refugees globally.

Refugees are people fleeing conflict zones. The present crisis is with people fleeing Syria. These people aren't reaching the UK illegally. I'm not sure who you're referring to exactly - doesn't the Mail article have that information?
