The fact that the "Syrians fleeing persecution" look awfully like people from other countries whose motivation is economic and the majority are young males not women & children like other refugee movements doesn't really encourage people to be sympathetic.
These are the points most are making. I have no objection to the UK helping. we should fund & develop facilities in Turkey and other countries round Syria so refugees are safe and well cared for, they can return at the end of the war.Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment

I was reading an intresting article in the Times (paywall) earlier and it was saying how many of these pro immigration groups like Open Borders and Southall Black Sisters are receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding from some Wall Street hedge fund backed outfit. Big business likes open borders. So do hard left-wingers; they make odd bed fellows.Comment
