I was just exiting a basement pub/bar in Birmingham in the early 80's and I found my way blocked by a fudging mountain... the mountain, after stopping me bouncing off him and bouncing back down the stairs, in a surprisingly gentle voice said "Sorry Mate I wasn't looking....".
I looked up into a large chest, and then looked up some more (he was 6'5" and standing on a stair above me), and there was this big grin shining through a thick beard - I recognised him from things like Superstars and the Olympics etc obs.
Many, many years later I met him at various Strongman competitions/events - as a Celeb Ribbon cutter, judge/umpire/host/raconteurComment
