lthough my German is pretty rubbish I will make sure I can say the basics in the native tongue thats for sure - it's embarrassing if you ever go to a country and cannot say some basic phrases

One time, an English consultant visited our office. Turns out she was from Barnsley originally (as was I). My Swiss boss afterwards confided that, although normally he had no problem understanding me, he'd not understood a word we said when this Yorkshire lass and I talked to each other. I explained it's because when I'm not home I speak "English for Foreigners".Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment
