      Proof

Just because you were a Northern Irish Catholic in the 70's and 80's it didn't mean you were an IRA terrorist however much the police in England wanted to believe it.

Also while it's know there were chances from Pakistan in the marchers but there were also chances from Iraq and Afghanistan. People from both those countries can claim asylum as legit refugees fleeing from conflict.

Then Russia will do what they did in Afghanistan.

It's not worth British armed forces lives.

Some interesting info graphics here: Europe
          from that link

In October, 2014, amid outcry over the Syrian numbers, that program was cancelled, and replaced with a tougher program known as Operation Triton, in which the search-and-rescue vessels and airplanes were largely replaced with border-protection operations.

The results were disquieting: The new program did nothing to reduce the refugee numbers – they remained largely the same in the first months of 2015 as they were under the old program in the first months of 2014.

But it did cause migrant deaths at sea to increase dramatically: From 17 in the first four months of 2014 to 900 in the first four months of 2015. In other words, the death rate was 54 times higher but the migrant flows weren’t deterred.

What has reduced boat-migrant numbers is the opening of legal channels for trans-Mediterranean migration, as Spain did in the 2000s. Even if only a few hundred people are admitted through legal, visa-driven entry regimes, countries have found that the existence of such programs causes the numbers of illegal migrants to fall to negligible numbers.
Pretty much where I & CMD are.

Not sure why he hasn't made that clear.

Here's something that's been bothering me.

This war has been going on for 4 years now and ,presumably, people have been fleeing the conflict for some time too.

So, why this sudden tide of refugees? What broke the logjam?

back in the day when I was growing up refugees generally had the sum total of fook all.

most of them were naked and emaciated.

now they look like a bunch of fookin hipsters

refugees my arse - just people who are leaving their country because some fookin muppet is in charge and they realise they could maybe have a better life elsewhere

let me give you a phrase

                  civil war

it is what all other current first world countries went through to get where they are now

so **** off back to where you came from pick up a gun and defend your country from the internal tyranny

or is that too much fookin hassle - no doubt when we finally go and get rid of the nutters running Syria these people will be the expecting everyone else to sort out their mess

sick off the hypocrisy and lies

and on that basis I am out

                    Times change.

Now refugees are middle class and come with their smartphone and money.

BTW the Ugandan Indian refugees were middle class but weren't allowed to bring anything with them.

So do you think they should put down the smart phone and pick up a gun and fight for their country back

                      or

should we welcome them in Europe - I mean we must assume as they will not fight the tyranny in their own land they are unlikely to take up arms against their benefactors?

Or will it be the next generation who feel they are loosing their roots and insist up changing the country which saved their parents a generation ago?

I think I just have huge trust issues
