Would it be better for us to build camps to house thousands of migrants where they just cost us money and don't contribute in any way? Maybe it would.

It seems to me one practical thing we could do is do more to stop the migrants coming across The Med. We have a whole navy that's essentially doing nothing, so why not give them something to do.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Ah, the "send them some money and forget about it" approach - keep them at arms length.

We probably should be doing as you suggest but that doesn't really help those who reach France/UK does it? Your idea might reduce the tide coming here but in the meantime, they still need help.

Policing international waters? Under what jurisdiction? I'm sure Daily Mail readers would happily see the navy gunning down "vicious, dangerous migrant boats" though.

You have referenced a fictional work that nobody here is likely to have read. Well, you must be right about the other thing then! FFS.

Something to eat, somewhere to tulip, somewhere to sleep, medical care. Just the luxuries really.

Actually send them money & help to do more good.

The whiff of citizenship is what is causing them to get into boats. Stop that and save lives.

I see Mrs Balls up is busy spending our money & future.

True of ISIS, but do you hold this view about the entire middle east? Is that really what you think ? Ugh.
