There is a vast difference in the way refugees are being accommodated, in Turkey they're being held in camps where the intention is to eventually return them to their country of origin once it's safe whereas in Europe this is not the case and refugees that settle there will indeed take up jobs and residence in that country and won't return to their country of origin.

Would it be better for us to build camps to house thousands of migrants where they just cost us money and don't contribute in any way? Maybe it would.

It seems to me one practical thing we could do is do more to stop the migrants coming across The Med. We have a whole navy that's essentially doing nothing, so why not give them something to do.

If you had bothered to read my post you would have seen I suggested helping them closer to their home say in Turkey. We could do this for far less than trying to accommodate severely damaged people into our populations.

We probably should be doing as you suggest but that doesn't really help those who reach France/UK does it? Your idea might reduce the tide coming here but in the meantime, they still need help.
