Note that the figures are for proportion of total thefts that involved devices. So it could be that there were only 100 thefts in Leicester, of which 51 were phones etc, whereas in London there were 100,000 thefts of which 27,000 were phones.
In other words, a figure like that doesn't really give much of an idea of how likely any one person is to become a victim.
But there was a big upsurge last year in phone thefts in cafes in town using the map trick. As I hardly ever go to town and never go to a cafe when I am there, I'm probably OK
