I am sorry but I have to say I beat you all. I have Hyperoptic 1gig Fibre to the building. I get normally around 50mB per second, but at night when less people in the building are using it I can get up to 70mB. It is how the internet should be, and it is fantastic. They come and just put an Ethernet cable into your apartment, free fixed IP address, no need for any BT line, its like the future now, and because they aren't one of the bigger ISP's they haven't signed up to anything, so no shaping, no blocking (I was amazed when we first got it that the real pirate bay actually worked of course it's been taken down now and I never used it just wanted to test).

Hang on they are selling you "1gig" and I assume this means 1000, and you are happy you are only getting 70?

70mB so 700mb is what I get, up to around 800mb and according to support the Router they give you for free will top out at that for Routing, its really more than enough.

I have just renewed my Sky. £66 includes Sky Talk (phone), Sky fibre unlimited, Sky package including HD, Sky Sports, Movies and Variety Pack, Sky Go.

Unbeatable, but this was after cancelling when my bill was going up to £110 and the retention team called me.

Good call - I pay £110 I dont even have fibre. Will need to bell sky.

So is this the same as YouView?

Got an email from plusnet with quite a good deal on YouView: £50 for a recorder box and £5pm (or £8pm for HD) for some premium channels that I think I would miss from Sky (SyFy, Eurosport, Comedy Central, FOX, Discovery.. ). So rather than go cold turkey on pay TV this seems quite a good option. Only thing is I don't get the full Freeview here and some of the channels I do get are flakey, but as I have a satellite dish Freesat would be a better option. A Freesat recorder box is £180, but for that price I could have 2 years worth of Youview premium channels...

So what I really want is Youview with a satellite input, which doesn't exist.

Telly is so complicated these days.

It's £32pm ish for 40Mb + phone. I thought it was less than that TBH; I should pay more attention. The phone is £16.99 of that I think.

Our recent sign-up got us Infinity 1 (40Mb) for £10/month with phone £17.99/month, and free TV using the mini-YouView box (no record). We don't get the extra channels other than BT sport and (I think) AMC.

But I do get £125 sainsbury vouchers from BT and £85 back from the cashback site. And since I got the discount for paying for 12 months line rental up front, I'm pretty happy.
