Catholics don't believe the Old Testament has value to faith, the protestant religions derived from the original church of Rome believe it is the word of the lord.

That's not actually true, however Jesus is the example Christians are to follow and he didn't stone people, hate them, or judge them. He also didn't tell people their sins weren't sins.

That is a passage in the new testament, you seem quite good a googling "homosexuality bible".
It hardly recommends stoning people in comfortable shoes.
