Who should the next Labour leader be?

They are diametrically opposed to my philosophy in life.

The labour party personifies the meddling, interfering dead hand of big government. There's some shocking statistic somewhere that goes somewhere along the lines of more laws were passed during the 10 years of Blair's administrations than were passed in the preceding 150 years.

Quite a statistic that. And backs up the maxim that you're never far from a tyranny when socialists are in power.

I have to agree with this - it seems that the tories are focused on getting the deficit down as the main goal.

Then it seems to be interested in defence of the realm and the NHS.

What I do not seem to have seen over the past 5 years is the constant, meddling, holier than thou splurging's from self righteous middle class pricks who seem to the think being in government is an excuse to tell people how to live their lives.

Don't forget Dawn Prim in the commons talking about "silly contractors" out to rob the poor as enemy of the state no.1 and all the Labour slime bags cheering as she told the commons how they would be punished and eventually destroyed by more and more legislation to make their disgusting way of life history.

New Labour may have ostensibly embraced the open market but everything else about them was fundamentally socialist c/f creation of a bloated client state, social engineering via mass immigration, subversion of our legal system via their iniquitous human rights act.

Socialist is probably too weak a word, I think Stalinist would fit the bill better.

We can either encode the European Convention on Human Rights into the various UK laws, or we can allow people to waste taxpayers money going to the European Court of Human Rights to bring the UK government to account. The first is cheaper than the second.....

To get elected in England you need to hold the centre.

Borrowing billions and increasing taxes and creating new taxes from thin air and then distributing all this money to their core voter base in public sector and benefit spongers, only one word comes to mind, Socialism.

Both Millibands, Balls, Cooper and Harman are all too associated with the old Blair/Brown years which is probably the biggest reason they lost. If they've got any sense it'll be someone new and relatively unheard of, perhaps that Chukka bloke (assuming UKIP don't get their way and shoot him in the face). Remember he's got 5 years in opposition to make a name for himself; it doesn't have to be one of the current big names.

I hope Labour stay out of power for as long as possible, I hoped with B'liar they had learn't their lesson that the country has to make a profit and everyone who can make a contribution, that way the tories can learn it is wrong to take too much profit sometimes.
