Shakespeare's witches are prophets who hail Macbeth, the general, early in the play, and prophesy his ascent to king. Upon killing the king and ascending the throne, Macbeth hears them ambiguously prophesy his eventual downfall. The darkly contradictory witches, their "filthy" trappings and supernatural activities, all set an ominous tone for the play.

No idea who Farage is playing in this though, can't remember the story that well

You got a job at the BBC now mate ? Ten seconds prior to that, the three were all hugging one another , then they all shook hand individually with Millipede then they all shook hands one by one with Farage. You've picked a single frame picture of them trooping towards Millipede to shake hands and tried to attach some sort of symbolism to it.

No I watched it as well and Farage was quite clearly out of the circle they shook hands with him as an afterthought.

I was watching with interest at the end and I'm not sure Farage didn't at least partly stage that. The others immediately went to shake each others hands, while he stayed staring at his podium until Ed (and I think Nicola) came to shake his hands. It wasn't hard to engineer if you'd wanted to.

He also didn't indulge in the "shake the audiences' hands" nonsense afterwards - shook hands with Dimbleby and left - but I'm with him on that.
