No, I make a habit of not reading the DM altogether. Point being, he did not have to wait until he was suspended to leave if he disliked Ukip that much, so yes, it does scream of self-serving mudslinging, though I've no idea what the Tories think they're gaining by doing this.

Farage had suspended him prior to his defection.
Do the tories really need this liability or is this part of a mud slinging match?
Do get too caught up in this please.Originally posted by Zero Liability View PostNo, I make a habit of not reading the DM altogether. Roger Helmer admits, on camera, that the official UKIP line on Bashir is nonsense. At the beginning of the C4 interview, he says Bashir was suspended before he left for the Tories; but at about 1:43, he admits that Bashir "jumped before he was pushed".
BTW, take everything this person says with a grain of salt as well. For example he's now totally against TTIP yet last year he voted for it (UKIP policy has done a 100% turnaround on this awful piece of possible future EU legislation!)“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment

It is quite pathetic that there are so many shrill pious voices out there getting so worked up about comments made within circumstances that no one has bothered to understand. Just as I have said in the past "all contractors are t*wats" . One would think that I therefore hate contractors. the fact is I have said it in jest to contractors. If someone would say to me all recruitment agents are spivvy (funnily the occasional contractor has in fact said this ) bigots I would reply that even spivvy bigots deserve a job opportunity.
So if one of you could explain what you think was meant by these comments then do enlighten yes. The other question is if these bigots are suddenly going to vote UKIP then where were they voting before this election? Are the mainstream parties going to own up to being populated by bigots in the past?Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

As DA said. Maybe people should not comment on specific issues, not expand them to make general points anyway, without knowing what the facts are and none of us know the details here.
Slightly off topic, but I don't know why some suggest the DM supports UKIP. It is a Tory paper that rarely misses a chance to publish UKIP bashing material. It is The Daily Express that is UKIP supporting and, generally, much more sensible. (Apart from their support of royalty obviously)bloggoth

It's only Wikipedia but I note that Bashir was once also deselected as a Respect candidate with Galloway claimed that he had "no real political principles or commitment ... only naked opportunism and self-interest" If a lefty like Galloway agrees with a righty like Farage maybe there is summit in it. Note it has been referred to police. Wait and see.bloggoth

Bigots' votes are as important as anybody's so trying to get the "bigot vote" could be worthwhile.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

Ignoring "extreme" viewpoints impacts the centre too because extremists also vote for or force reasonable policies. Without UKIP the other parties would not be proposing more sensible policies on the EU or immigration. If you have a normal distribution of views on any issue and chop off one end, you skew the result in a way that affects the moderates on that side.
More importantly, those cast as bigots on the immigration debate have reality on their side. because they are expressing natural human instincts and you cannot ignore those if you want society to work. Look back in our history or anywhere around the world and serious cultural differences in juxtaposition have usually caused conflicts and tensions.bloggoth
