To make matters worse, in a chance phone call from my bank manager I told her I was pregnant and she immediately questioned whether this was the right time for me to be having a baby. Since when did bank managers assume the right to question when their customers decide to have a baby?

She was warned from the outset that her finances were in a tulipe situation and it wasn't a good time to pop a sprog. No sympathy, you don't rush into having children when you know your finances are screwed. I suppose she thinks the good old Labour governement will look after her and pay off all her debts.


She also mentions that she will need the rental income from her buy to lets during maternity which is one of the reasons she didn't sell them. To me this implies she is taking the rent and spending it rather than using it to pay the mortgages on the buy to let properties, again stupid stupid stupid.....

2 Years?, if I was out of work longer than a few months I Would look at taking anything.

2 years cover chance of a long term illness (in all probability insurance people will stuff you when you are down) or Plan B work, like SKA for example.

NOT a good idea to have that much cash visible to HMRC, you WILL get a PAYE compliance review and lots of other nasty things, they will want to get their hands on that pile of cash for sure.

100% agree ! I know of it happening loads of times....They will make anything up to get the money out of you !

How come you always seem to know so much about law atw? Wierd sort of interest. Most of us only know the bits we have been forced to know and that's more than enough!

PS How do HMRC know what people have saved are they spying on our bank accounts now?
