The Falkland Islanders were given a vote and decided to remain British. That in my opinion is the end of it.
Because the Argentinians invaded and the British defended one of their protectorates we should feel no guilt.
The Argentinians were bullies and trounced, whilst I feel sorry for the individual soldiers (just as I do for most conscripts and even volunteer soldiers in most wars) but Argentina needs to admit to themselves its over.
The Falklander islanders have clearly indicated they don't want to be the Malvinas.
Maybe its a Spanish cultural thing because they are the same with Gibraltar.
Whenever I hear it, I just think Cueta and Melilla.
Bloody Spanish hypocritesComment

Clarkson & Co. go to a foreign country and annoy the locals because it gives them an opportunity to promote their show.
Frankly, it looks pretty pathetic when compared to somebody like Alan Henning, who went to a foreign country to help other people and was savagely murdered for his pains.Comment

Other than they both went abroad there's precious little similarities.Comment

I agree that Mr Hennings case is more worthy of news, but as you're well aware the news these days is about sensationalism nothing else carries real merit to the publishers.Comment

The "offending" numberplate was: H982 FKL
Since the Argentinians refer to the islands as the Malvinas, shouldn't the plate have been H982 MLV for maximum irrirations of the natives?Comment
