Bloody kids lose headphones on what feels like a monthly basis. Can't wait to see how long before tiny earpieces go missing....

Ah, but this has no headphone socket and the stupid air pods are around £120.

If you went for top end iphone 7 and the required wireless head phones, it rings in at over £1K

Actually to be fair to Apple they come with a set of wired headphones that use the lightening connector and a lightening to 3.5mm jack adaptor cable. So you are not totally screwed unless you want to listen to music on your phone while charging it.

That's good then, only an additional adaptor to carry around

Maybe, to get around that they could add a jack to the phone

I actually liked that album. Far less preachy than he has been since Achtung Baby.

I had hoped that Wireless charging would be launched with the loss of the jack as a compensation, however using the free Wireless charging that was offered in the Virgin East Coast lounge last night it was dire in speed

Maybe not. But they don't really have any meaningful market share now do they? It's all down to the headphone socket.

My 1+3 was £300. 128Gb storage, 6Gb RAM, yada yada.

What Apple do is hone and perfect certain technologies, contactless was not a major thing until ApplePay launched, same thing with wearables, they didn't get much traction until the AppleWatch, and make decisions to drop older technologies they feel do not sit with their premium product experience.
