That argument is a slippery slope to consumerism and debt

      Also - no 32Gb version?
It's not a phone. It has a phone built-in; but then, it also has a compass built-in, and it's not a compass either.

I'm surprised there's a 16GB version but no 32GB version. I would have expected the entry-level model to have 32GB nowadays. It probably helps AT&T and suchlike to milk more profit out of their cheapest contracts though.

We've all been tricked into thinking that carrying around a monkey in out pocket is entirely normal. But pre-iPhone, spending that much on a portable stereo would be very unusual.
My iPhone 3GS cost me around £700, as far as I remember. That was five years ago to the month, so it's cost me about £11.66/month, plus £10/month Pay & Go for phone and data, neither of which I've ever used to the max.

I used to carry a dumb phone, a blackberry, a MP3 player and at times a point and shoot camera.

          Now I carry one device

            The Apple Watch

Those things are not going to sell like hotcakes.

What the hell are they thinking, strapping a nano on the wrist band?

That's a fail. I expected more from a design time with millions at their disposal.

The 3GS was £440 or £538 at launch dependant on whether you got 16gb or 32gb

In what way does it resemble an iPod Nano?

                      What we were expecting:

What we got - seriously Apple?

                      And here's a nano with a strap.
