Odd. none of the ones I've received said that.

The root@pcg.org.uk email (which is what sends out the "your email wasn't delivered" posts) says it at the bottom of there, so there is obviously some confusion.

If people are going to refer to them as "them what was PCG", then what was the purpose of the rebranding exercise? And if you (who I presume as part of the CC had some kind of input into the process) don't know whether the name is a name or an acronym, then how do you expect anyone else to know what the name means?

If it were anything to do with me, I'd be playing up the "it's an acronym" line rather than "it's a Latin word", since at least with an acronym you can hide the fact that (a) you didn't understand what the word meant when you chose it; and (b) the name is for men and not women.

There is enough sexism in the world of IT without a representative group inadvertently naming themselves "himself".

As an aside, I was struck by just how much the new logo looks like the one that they had when I were a member. I dread to think how much money they peed away on logo redesigns over the years. Quite glad that it's not my money anymore.

The PCG say that they "went through the whole process in a professional manner working with one of the top agencies in the UK probably nowhere near as much as you might imagine."

So that's all good then.

So they've gone from PCG in a scripty sort of text, through the PCG homage to the old Jessops logo, and back to PCG in scripty text again... Revolutionary, but perhaps not in the way that they had intended.

I would have thought you of all people would get the basics right.

Hint once you change your branding pay particular attention to ensuring you consistently use the new name and habit doesn't involve you going off message.
