OK I'll fess up - a mate of mine thinks I should buy one for this reason, as he wants to see me get some nookie
I dunno about pick up girls but they piss other men off. Have had a couple of things thrown out of car windows at me and someone dumped their chip bag in mine when I left the roof down parked up. I also noticed it was harder to pull out in to traffic when I have the hood down.

If it pisses poor people off then it's good enough for me.

Oh and women who like flash sports cars will know enough about them to laugh off a basic boxter.....

It'd probably be cheaper and more reliable just to pay the girls directly.

The other reason is that you want a Porsche.

          I have no idea.

I suspect the sort of girls that would date you because you have a Porsche are the sort you'll be crying about when they take you for every penny in a divorce two years down the line...

Go for a classic 911 (S, or RS), fantastic shape, something from the '70s, fuchs alloys, the works.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

Get a 370Z with a V6 engine or a second hand AMG SLK 55 (or even SL) instead IMO.

Either that or let your wife buy the Boxter so at least you can say it's hers when your mates see you in it.

Almost everything I've read, though, says that the Boxster (the 981 at least) is a better drive than the 911.

Plus the nissan is **** ugly.

I do like the SLKs though, and by the time you add extras which are mega expensive for the porsche it's a good bit cheaper.

Agree with this, but man, they're not cheap!

Personally, I think that the pre-impact bumper 911's from the 70's are my favourite, from a form-follows-function perspective.

Package it as a "Singer" (impact bumper) and you have my ultimate car.

I forgot to say I was talking about the 's' in the previous post. Probably wouldn't get one of those new though.
