You're not listening. The agency have the role and will have agreed a rate with the client. The contractor gets a percentage of that rate from the agency. Clearly you have to ensure you get as much as you can for your rate, but what the agency gets is not really much to do with you. Focus on your own income.Originally posted by goldenstarnice View Post

The contract will be between your Limited Company and the agency, the agency will then have a contract with the end client. If you are working through an umbrella company you will work under a contract of employment with them and they will have a contract with the agency.
With regard to the agency margin (and assuming you're not a sockie) - work out what you think is a fair rate for your skills and don't take any lower than that - negotiations work both ways! At the end of the day if the contract isn't paying enough, don't take itComment
