a) Contribution based JSA
b) Income Based JSA
c) I don't know
Case c) the DWP will do the checks for you. If you say: a) then you won't be asked questions about your income.
It is the claimant's responsibility to make sure that all information given are correct. One cannot say: the DWP adviser didn't ask me the question. The DWP and HMRC would have an easy case in prosecuting somebody for benefit fraud.
This is the case now, if and when the UC is introduced natiowide, I believe all will be done online and data will be shared between DWP and HMRC.<Insert idea here> will never be adopted because the politicians are in the pockets of the banks!Comment

Having been through it all a number of years ago, I'd be doing my damnedest to find another gig rather than go down that path again.
YMMV but I can only imagine there'd be more hoops to jump through.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

If you have less than £16k then you can claim more benefits such as housing benefit to cover council tax bill.Comment
