Rival firms won't be gloating at UBS's misfortunes. Cost-income ratios are out of whack at many European investment banks, and plenty need to raise capital - or cut assets. Many more job losses and compensation cuts are to come.
Agreed. It is not good for the City of London / Docklands. I am not surprised by the results, the market dislocation of USD 40 Billion was reported even in 2008.

On the Bench probably. IB contractors are notoriously snobby about taking non-IB contracts that are 'beneath' them.
