Family business tax back on the agenda.

I'm very disappointed by the tories loooking again at family businesses paying dividends. I suppose it was kind of inevitable but this kind of policy nails the lid down on a second term in government for the tories.

Government in "wanting to sort out a tax dodge" shocker.

You've got away with it for years - be grateful that it's unlikely to be backdated.

They're reviewing all taxation. This one just happens to be a bit high profile. Equally I doubt it will be allowed to slip through the net.

And let's be clear, we don't have a Tory government and the key tactical lead at the Treasury is actually a Lib Dem
      Blog? What blog...?

Yep. It's as much a tax dodge as you using an ISA. Or offsetting an expense against your business. IIRC, while the government (at the time) via their attack dog, HMRC, considered it to be a tax dodge, some fairly senior judges disagreed.

Fred, did you really believe the 'it will all get better when the tories get in power' bulltulip spouted by many on here!?

They are going to screw us. They'll chuck us a mangey fix on IR35 but screw us with the re introduction of S660 legislation.

Still, it's all those nasty Lib Dems in the Government forcing this upon us, isn't it?

Do we really think they're going to "fix" IR35? I'm far from convinced. Gut feeling is it will be replaced with something just as bad, or worse. Bad times ahead IMO.

                  No. That's my point!

There will be some watering down of IR35 or at least an effort to make it more 'transparent.' It wont make us better off. And, they'll push through a revised S660 which would gather far more money than IR35 ever did!

No, it's nowhere as near as legit.
