I am about to become an employer.

It is a messy business hiring people. They want want want.

Spoke to a guy in Pakistan , can start on 300 / month but hints that will want more after few months. Has a family to feed and apparently in Pakistan 1000 / month is the goal. Issue ? Not sure if he will work well with indians .... but just doesn't seem right.... Man with a family ..... awaaay in Asia.... now is here tomorrow who knows....

Spoke to a student gal in Eastern Europe. What a lovely gal. Studies Economy , Studies CCNA , and works akin a Mechanical Turk for somebody in the States . Wants to learn IM and Web but ...can only do 2.5 days a week for me. We will see...

Spoke to an early 30s gal again Eastern Europe. Solid gal but wants me to pay her socials ( i.e wants me to employ her rather than self-employ her) ... so she'd get pension one day........

All in all hefty thing this hiring people business. But to quote a quote from one of my favorite business books ... Men went to the moon , the least they must be able to do is start a business...

Hmmm, 1000 pcm for an employee in Pakistan seems expensive considering the exchange rate.

Both European prospects seem to be trying it on.

What is it you want? if its intermittant work then surely a fixeed term contract would be more appropriate or even a 1-month rolling contract?

I am an employer and I have used a variety of different contracts which have worked for me in the past - so much so that I set up a consultancy/recruitment agency.

Can't decide if this is trolling... why come to CUK as a new member and ask about business?

      In seriousness, try http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/

I'm sure it is. (It's not me.) It's got signs of being a Joey variant.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Am not sure coming on to a UK contracting forum with people on the bench etc and complaining about the quality of your offshore/eastern european candidates is really going to get you much sympathy and understanding I am afraid.

As far as I'm concerned this is not a troll. The OP has asked similar q's on PCG forums and on the basis that you have to pay to get onto those, I think she was legit.
