    Profile/ CV advice please

What is wrong ? How can I improve ? Too long ? For me the length subliminally tells the reader that I have a lot of experience.
I'd like Interim management. Don't see what else to do in technical area.

Normally I would have put a bit more effort in asking for help before posting your entire CV and expecting a load of people to fix it for you. Bearing in mind a lot of these people will be going for the same roles as you I wouldn't expect a barrage of answers either.

How about spending a bit more time telling us why you think it is wrong and why you believe it needs improving. You must have had some feedback or be in a situation that you are not explaining.

        WHS

What have you done in the past?

What do you want to do in the future?

Interim Management is about more than putting everything in your CV, flinging it at Jobserve and hoping it'll stick...

          Fair enough !

I'm not asking for a re-write or even a full read: just .... first impression. Something you see that you don't like. Believe me I have spent an insane period of time to get it this far. I don't even like to think about how much effort I put in. I read other's CVs, I've read many many advice pages over years. Being on the bench for a while affords me this 'opportunity' to refresh.

I've been applying for systems team lead/assistant manager level contracts and jobs and getting nil feedback. I understand there is a lot of competition but the wall of silence makes me doubt the CV I'm sending. I've usually had no bother in the past but maybe they were more the bum in seat roles.

I seem to be pigeon-holed into standard techie systems roles by agents when I do much more than simply keep servers ticking over. I guess I need to cut down some of the tech bullet points.

Mine comes to 4 pages. I know that is regarded as lon but I'm concerned about keyword searches or someone thinking "Not bad, but he hasn't done x, y, z"just because I didn't have it on the .doc. Is it too wordy ?

Speaking as a working Interim Manager who recruits other interims on occasion...

I need to know what have you done in terms of challenges, successes, savings and improvements. I'm only really interested in the last five years. I don't care what languages you know or what exams you've passed, unless I'm recruituing for a genuine technical position and even then, only the immediately relevant high-level skills. Managing is not about doing, it's about ensuring others can do their job, it's about people skills and it's about covering your own fees in net savings as an absolute minimum. It's also about answering the question being asked, which in this case is "What do I offer you, Mr Client, to resolve your immediate problem?".

To put that in context I have comparable technical skills to you plus a solid 20 years in Service Management. Guess which is listed on the CV?

It was the sentence that involved both the words 'love' and 'commitment' that got it banned! Just shocking!!!
