If your post is more than 4 lines long, I lose interest.

Much like when I read a CV...

All true but I wanted to know what was specifically 'wrong' with mine.

Interim Management is about more than putting everything in your CV, flinging it at Jobserve and hoping it'll stick...

I'm going to do it. Tonight. Thanks.

I need to know what have you done in terms of challenges, successes, savings and improvements. I'm only really interested in the last five years. I don't care what languages you know or what exams you've passed, unless I'm recruituing for a genuine technical position and even then, only the immediately relevant high-level skills. Managing is not about doing, it's about ensuring others can do their job, it's about people skills and it's about covering your own fees in net savings as an absolute minimum. It's also about answering the question being asked, which in this case is "What do I offer you, Mr Client, to resolve your immediate problem?".

To put that in context I have comparable technical skills to you plus a solid 20 years in Service Management. Guess which is listed on the CV?

This is good stuff. Thank you. I trust others can benefit too.

Isn't that normal if you have a few 'good' ones ?

I've spent the last years in an IT shop that put a heavy emphasis on academic history.

Now I think about it you may be right but then read may never get to a later paragraph.

Now if it really is a true CV, it looks like you must be an Einstein type of person - in which case it will beg the question "why you are looking for work?"

Maybe watering it down, or dropping some of the qualifications which are not relevant might be the answer?

....but what the **** would I know? - Hey I'm on the bench!!!!!
It isn't fake and I'm no Einstein. I've been under-achieving so far [when I consider the careers of some non-IT friends]. Hence trying to improve this tired 'brochure' to get out of straight support.

But SHYTE ! What if a client or recruiter thinks it is fake and trashes it ? Watering down seems counter-intuitive but maybe it is worth trying for a few weeks.

Happy to give you a giggle

But really _____ I thought unless I post the real thing the only comments I'll receive would be generic tips.

My question - as an employer - so what? What efficiency savings did this give the business?
                    >> Good point. << I'll try to re-work it but mainly working in a support area rarely produces showy business results like 'Boosted revenue by 42%'
