    Visa Sponsorship

    Hi Guys,

I'm new to this forum and new to the whole adventure of doing contract work in the UK. I've gone through some of your previous posts and have a few questions for those of you who have already gone through the whole process .

Do any of you guys know of any other companies that offers the same services for contractors where it comes to sponsorship as Bite? I've gone through the post that was written in 2007 and from some of your comments I take it that there are other companies in the UK with the same services and was wondering whether any of you know or have worked through any of these companies and which ones you would recommend? I'll need to come over on a Tier 2 work permit, but to find a job without having a work permit seems to be a bit troublesome seeing that most of the companies want you to be in the UK so you can do interviews.

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated

So let's get this straight - you want us to help you get work that you are probably not currently entitled to do when some 20% of UK contractors are on the bench.

Can you see a slight hitch in your planning...?
    Blog? What blog...?

You've got it all wrong, Tier 2 = permanent employment, you aren't allowed to do contracting

I think you misunderstand my intentions a bit. I'm not expecting you to get me a job, I'll do that on my own. That should be fairly easy when I'm in the UK and I can go for the interviews.

Bite Consulting offers a service whereby they sponsor you and apply for your work permit. This allows you to then, by working through them, go to the UK and do contract work for various companies as long as those companies are willing to work through them. For helping you write your CV and giving you some basic interview coaching they expect 15% of your gross package.

So, I'm looking for another company that is willing to sponsor me and that won't be so expensive and restrictive.

Why not just do what everyone else does and come over on an ICT visa? Oh wait yeah, they'll end up paying you a tulipe wage, and you'll end up stuck abroad living in poverty. Makes you wonder why people do it.

Mal - one for ICT abuse investigation perhaps?

Think he (and rest of us) understood your intentions all to well. The person who did not understand anything was you

But thanks for letting us know about Bite Consulting, some people will be very interested in them, in shutting them down that is

I'm willing to work for peanuts and I'm security cleared which is effectively a closed shop in the UK yet I'm sat at home, your optimism is only surpassed by your naivety.

Hi TaliesinAirt, I believe that you are from SA if Google serves to be correct? If what you are saying about the consulting firm’s practice is true; then what they are doing is illegal. A few years ago the UK government would have ignored the practice but today they will not. You may get away with it but certainly the consulting firm will not as they are already on my watch list and I will be sending a report to the DTI.
