If you think that this has any bearing on your coding abilities, then you need to look at a much bigger picture. Coding is such an insignificant part of the deals I am working on, they are not worth mentioning.

I took part in several projects where (in fact, I used to work at a comp specializing in) the aim was to rewrite something the Indians cocked up from scratch. In fact, I have yet to see a single project that went from start to finish, was finished on time and on budget which had maintainable code (ie: no talk of rewriting within 2 years) which was outsourced to India.

Show me one major software used by everyone which was created in India.

You might be able to peddle your snake-oil to unsuspecting managers, but we already had the last laugh once.

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

Still the bottom line is that cheaper is better for most organizations.

Sorry, can't read drivel like "Focus on your core competencies." without severe nausea coming over me. As soon as this contract runs out, I will head to Eastern Europe to start a near-shoring consultancy, so I honestly hope the UK will outsource more and more to India.

India is our greatest ally, just like Hitler was for Churchill.

What would a truly independant contractor be doing at insourcing and outsourcing presentations?

You are a crap sockpuppet/troll, probably an agent, who thinks he has chat.

As I said, I work for me and no one else and have a well paid contract, so considerably better than 99% of folk on here.

True. But it's probably close to the one the people currently doing the workj are getting paid. It's certainly within 10%-15% of it. It sure as hell isn't 40% of the current rate...

There must be some loophole in the regulations that says nobody has to find out what people currently doing the work are getting paid, or insufficient number of people challenging the rate that has been nominated - hence the problem.

Fact: most ICT's are getting a day about what you would charge an hour.

Still think you are good value??
