Want out ... but can't find a termination clause!

I recently started with a new agency and contract.
I'm just over a week in and have been offered a much better job, different agency and company, closer to where my partner works (around 200 miles away).

Re-reading my contract - both the agency and their client appear to have 1 week termination clauses. I appear to have *nothing*!

It's a three month contract! Any suggestions on how to exit quickly and cleanly if the agency and client are sticky on this?

Give the agency a reason to terminate your contract. You are an intelligent sockpuppet, so work it out.

Smaking the PM is good. If the PM is female, aim for the lower half of the body, if it i s a bloke, aim for the nose.

Some inventive ways to give notice

* Download and watch some porn - should do the trick
* Ask a load of stupid questions that a 1st year grad should be able to answer - always winds up permie's.
* Generally discuss about how many systems you've trashed in the past.
* Talk about your crossdressing fetish and how you plan to turn up in a dress and heels next week (although there is the danger they may be fine with that )

Turn up every day at 11, unshaven, without deoderant, and half bottle of whiskey in the pocket of your dirty and stained coat. Drink the rest of the bottle while at work.

Repeat.

At one, site, such a contractor was asked not to come back - after doing this for two weeks!

You could try one or more of the above ideas, or simply tell the agency and client that it's not working out and you will be leaving. Don't have to give real reason. No client wants a sulky, miserable git on their project after all.

I would take this to mean that you need 0 days notice. The agency must have c*cked up. Normally contracts are one sided as contractors need to give a longer notice period than the client.

Getting paid if you don't come back monday morning may become a problem.

I do all of those now. Nobody has sacked me.

This is common in IBM contracts. They expect you to complete the course of the project, just like you'd expect a builder to.
