You are not running a business if you bundle off receipts and a couple of forms, you are outsourcing responsibility, do you know all your company figures from your annual accounts off the top of your head, do you understand the workings, have you even interrogated these figures? I would guess not.

How have you arrived at this £1K saving?
What deadline did you miss that caused a £1K fine?

I use NW and think they are good they do all I need anyway. No need for premium though.

They promote themselves as a pro-active accountancy not sure how true that is.

Oh, and I am with planIT so I couldn't give a monkeys either way.....just seems a little suspicious to me that's all.

Think what you like! I am what they call a forum troll... I've been "on" these forums for around 2 years now, just never had a reason to post.

I work for myself but my other half does indeed work as an accountant. I am also a customer of NW and as I have said in previous posts, they arent 100% bad but they do need to come a long way imho...

                  Nixon williams cock up again

Doing my self assesment returns made me realise today that, NW have cost me £1000 + AAAAAAAAAAAAAAArGGH in underpaid tax for this year, this since they have mis calculated my whole of 2008/9 calculations and dividend payments placing me now in Higher band.

Going by that this is the first year of company operation with £1000 + lighter pot which I could have easily avoided if NW had advised correctly on the total income and div payments to keep me under higher band.

this makes me question whether I would trust NW for that sake any accountant fully on my company accounts.

                    Accounts are ultimately your responsibility.

But you're right - this is unacceptable. Go back to NW and complain - if they were at fault then I would expect to see some recompense...

How did they do this though? I'll wager it was income from other sources that you did not tell them about that has pushed up your overall taxable income?
