I had the same from an agent a few years ago. Gave the names of two non manager engineers I had worked with, he phoned them both and they (naturally) praised me highly. They did not get pestered afterwards. -

I just don't bother applying for any roles advertised by bob agencies, rate is cr@p and they are a nightmare to deal with, would rather be benched while I wait for a decent contract.Originally posted by TestMangler View PostThink it's got something to do with fisting you over the rate

Just had it-talent.co.uk email me
Excuse my email approach but I thought you may appreciate this rather than a call.
I am currently seeking a number of strong Desktop support contractors for my banking client based in central London. I wanted to ascertain if you are currently in the market for a new contract / position within the next two weeks. If not then please accept my apologies and delete this email (it will not be repeated).
If you are seeking a new position then I would appreciate an updated version of your CV and some information to avoid wasting your time.
· What is your availability to start a new contract ?
· Where are you based ?
· What is your most competitive hourly rate for a 6 month contract nr Liverpool St, London ?
· Can you provide two references from you last two contracts / employers ?
