Take up skiing, then you can schedule around the snow.

Last year I managed 12 weeks holiday. This year I planned to work part-time - just 2-3 days a week for 40 weeks. But it hasn't worked out that way. I'm almost full-time this quarter and next quarter, after deducting 3 weeks of holiday. Then the latter part of the year I've already got 2-3 days a week. And now I'm going for a part-time contract for the 3rd and 4th quarter which will mean with my current commitments working 6 day weeks for a while and no summer holiday.

But that'll put plenty in reserve for 1Q2009 for more skiing.

Had 4 interviews so far in the last 2 weeks. One client changed their mind about what they wanted after the interview, one wanted a permie with more experience, 2 others are interested. Got another interview tomorrow.

All paying between 25-35% more than previous contract rate so all in all it seems quite positive for me at present.

Sent my CV around to some old colleagues and clients as well to see if they have anything going on.

Starting to get restless now on 6th week on the bench.

Good luck Beaker, the main thing is getting the interviews, then it is just a matter of time.
        I'm alright Jack

          Cheers Blaster Bates.

Had another interview this morning. Went very well, but the guy told me I look half my age. That would be 14. It was for a project director contract. Hmmm...

Got another one this afternoon with a Gov agency.

Off to buy a fake beard and glasses now.

So far I've been wearing a suit and tie. The tie doesn't seem to be working for me. Tie or no tie this time?

            Maybe you need a balaclava?

I would say tie for an interview every time.

Ok I will try a red tie this time.

Still undecided about the balakava though

Only for Government interviews - seeing as only clowns work for them anyway
