All, looking for advice. I'm a technical Product Manager(used to be Devops) and been running cloud platforms for 10 years. I keep my skills up to date by doing the relevant cloud certifications just to keep my cloud skills up to date and SC cleared. I'm in an outside IR35 contract.
My client said to me last week I will need to be inside IR35 to continue working for them. I decided to use linkedin and let people know I'm looking for work on Monday as current client were dragging their feet on how much they will pay as rate uplift for being inside IR35.
I was fortunate enough to have 3 jobs offered in the last week and few more interviews lined for this week.Among the three 2 are perm and one is outside IR35.
I'm currently on £900/day but I know market is quite bad so was happy to take a rate cut as long as it's above £600 . 2 perms roles are similar pay except one is in public sector needing SC (consultancy with 350 people , grown from 5 in 2018) salary of £115,000 , second one is also a consultancy 2 years old with 150 people but more perks than the other. Also building cloud platforms focusing onAI on £115,000 .
Contract role is Outside IR35 needing SC for £650 6 months contract also a small consultancy , 2 years remaining on their contract with the public body. They don't have perms. With the state of the market and the uncertainty I'm torn between Contract Vs permanent and whether I should take a role which preserves SC or should I take the role which involves the buzzword AI. Any advice is appreciated
