    I take 3 step approach..

    1. Apply jobs via Jobserv (I found other sites are just repeating Jobserv roles) - Since I had alerts setup I normally apply within 2-3 hours after a job is released in Jobserve. - ~500 application in June.

    2. Find agents email address and send CV directly to them with Jobserve Reference, in case they missed Jobserve applications. - Out of above 500, ~300 applications applied this way as well.

    3. Call agents and try to talk to the consultant - ~100 applications out of above 500.

I might have got some response for ~30 applications saying they submitted my CV. Out of that I had 4 telephone interviews. No F2F so far.!

Given that you're applying for, what, ~25 jobs per day (**** all gets posted over the weekend) are you just applying for EVERYTHING that comes through to your alerts?

Darren, are you actually an agent spamming us?
No contractor would call an agent a consultant. Although sometimes we might drop the ONS and LTA.

If you have been contracting for over 5 years you should have some agents who you have a connection with.

I understand what you guys pointing to...but I had a terrible May when I was too selective didn't get any calls from agents. So started applying for more roles thinking reason for lack of response is I am too selective.

Now I fear I am flooding agents with my CV.

I am contracting more than 10 years.
Of that 5+ years I worked for same agency/managed service company with different clients though not continuously.

So you don't get any calls for gigs you are a good match so you start randomly spamming roles you can't do. How's that gonna work? All that's gonna do is get you down or in to a mild state of panic which you appear to be in.

One month isn't a long time to be looking for a gig, especially if you have narrow criteria like specific locations. There are guy actively posting on here 2 to 3 months on the bench at the moment. You're warchest should be able to carry you nicely though this long at the very least.

Spamming for random gigs you haven't a hope in hell of getting is just wasting everyone's time.

                      ^^This

You start spamming agents then when even if the role is a good fit they will just press delete on your emails as they will remember your name for the wrong reasons.
