Indian recruitment consultancies operating in the UK

They are legit, recruiting for HCL.
The initial approach will be from a junior recruiter, usually resulting in a experience similar as described above.
you need to remember two things:
- you wont deal with them later on, their job #2 is to shortlist candidates for the roles
- your invoices will be handled by someone else
- their actual job #1 is to lowball rates.

I don't think its much more appealing.

There are a few 'consultancies' like that out there like that at the moment, there is another one almost identical to this called 'ThinkTank Management Consulting' that's a front for HCL/TCS/InfoSys operating out of Mainland Europe farming CV's.

We need to monitor this to see if it is a trend, it could be that the Indian-shell business model is evolving when actually all they are doing is adding another layer in-front of the Indian-shell so it looks like its not a Indian-shell when infact that is exactly what it is, just someone else is adding another £25pd to day-rate as an admin fee and calling it a 'Consultancy'.

Just to add that I'm not sure about Intelligent Resource, have been working happily through them for a year on my current gig, all the people I've ever spoken to have been UK based, pay always spot on, zero issues. I guess they may outsource some stuff? But generally no issues from them my side.

You have misinterpreted my post.

I meant that when I see a recruiter's (individual) name, that appears to be Indian, I immediately go and check out the company as I wonder if it's one of these, which makes me feel like I'm discriminating against a particular ethnicity. Whereas if it's not, I don't feel obliged to do this.

Idiot calls and wants to put me forward for a specific role.
Idiot realizes that client wants a English and German speaking candidate
Idiot tells me they will put me forward for another role dealing with different systems and technologies that is only English speaking
Told the idiot that i have minimal experience with those technologies.
Idiot insists that this is just a job description and no big issue.

I started looking this week and got 5 or 6 such calls already.

I honestly thought it was a scam before reading this thread so I told the lady on the phone that no, I would not submit to a technical interview with her colleagues.

I went to the client's website and looked up the position and saw the following: "Works for Mindteck on behalf of $CLIENT only use for Contingent Worker type Third Party (Vendor)."

Now I just see the occasional "someone from Adroit people viewed your profile" on Linkedin.
Its like they just look through my shop window, mouths silently miming "I have the new job opportunity for you", but I can't hear them and they can't come in.
