    Banks - BYOD or not?

I don't have a laptop and I'll have to get a new one anyway, but I was wondering whether I'd be working on my own laptop or not.

    · Will he need his own laptop or will one be provided?
If he can bring his own, that'll bridge any teething troubles with getting *bankname* equipment setup.
English is not my native language. I understand this means I'd be starting out with my own laptop until they give me a Macbook to work on?

Yes you can bring your own. No you can't connect it to their network.

Take one but you wont be able to connect it to the network, you'll need your own 4G dongle to get access to the internet probably as well.

As above. Banks are ultra-risk averse on this sort of thing.

I wouldn't get a new laptop to do client work specifically on; I'd buy one based on myco's requirements.

If you do use your own laptop there will probably be as much delay in setting up as in setting up the desk top at the bank. You will still need access to the banks systems, which is what takes the time.
          I'm alright Jack

If the keys work and it has more than 4GB of RAM, I'd be surprised.

When I started out contracting all those years ago, I thought I'd need to use my own laptop and spent £1200 buying a beefy Dell with 17" screen. I walked into the banking client with that and the guys looked at me weird and asked me why I brought it in. I eventually managed to find a spare telephone port and dialed in so that I could Yahoo.

Since then I used that laptop only for emails and surfing. Now, not even my 7 year old wants the laptop, though to be fair, it's old and decrepit now.
