Reading between the lines, it seemed like it was a global pitch to business to come and start your venture here. We have everything in the UK. Except for good weather!

As expected, yesterday's perfect interview has come back negative.

Feedback was generally a long the lines of superficial knowledge although I answered all the questions in detail.

He also gave feedback that I had not participated in open source or forums. And as a ex-developer was disappointed by this approach .

I am still smiling about the feedback TBH. I knew it would go like that, from the drilling down into the tech questions he was giving me.

Interviews, have to be the right guy at the right time and the interviewer wanting to give the job. It's not scientific and more random than anything else.

It's generally people who are overweight, got no friends and play dungeons and dragons all night. And then wonder they can't get a girl and have no cash.

I answered every question perfectly. He even said, that he could not ask me any Java questions because he has no knowledge of half the technologies on my CV. And the Microsoft ones were not in question.

Gosh, I hate tech nerds sometimes.

Sorry to hear that. When you come out of an interview feeling like you've performed your best and they still come up with dross like that, it can be damn demoralising. You already had a hunch it wouldn't go anywhere so at least you were mentally prepared for the rejection.

Interviews are more about personality matches than competence. You probably made the interviewer feel threatened by being too competent.

Sorry to hear that. When you come out of an interview feeling like you've performed your best and they still come up with dross like that, it can be damn demoralising. You already had a hunch it wouldn't go anywhere so at least you were mentally prepared for the rejection.

Interviews are more about personality matches than competence. You probably made the interviewer feel threatened by being too competent.

There is nothing worse than being rejected for something that wasn't on the job spec.
