Finished my last contract in April and had virtually zero interest in contract applications but had a few interviews (with presentations) for perm positions.
2 Offers - one is contract initially with a view to go perm. Fully remote for the contract duration, ok rate and in a role that I was looking for. Just waiting for the QDOS review before I sign.
Two plan B's are also being worked on...
Good luck everyone!Comment

From my, admittedly limited, view of the market I am not seeing many inside IR35 contracts. That said a lot of 'contracts' advertised on LinkedIn seem to be FTC.Comment

I had a chat with two potential clients today, both outside IR35 and okay rate, plus three agents asked for availability and may have something. Surprisingly busy day.Comment

Mini-boom
Got a very short extension of 6 weeks rather than 3 months as expected. Better than a kick in the teeth I guess and I''ll have managed to eke out over 7 months in this gig instead of 3 as originally anticipated.
Last year I had been getting frustrated with contracting, specifically the length of my gigs which weren't allowing me to do what I really wanted to do in my type of role. Had been thinking of going perm and had an interview for an IT Director role just before xmas. Talking to a couple of Heads of Practice in agencies, sounds like there isn't really any sign of a recovery at the moment in contract and interim roles but perm is looking a little better, albeit a lot of people are now coming onto the market making it more competitive.
I'll take a break when I finish as the war chest is fairly good. I'm looking at hiring a specialist coach to help me decide whether I should go back to perm and if so, help find me a new role. It's very expensive but at least it's part paid on results.Comment

Can you tell me more about this specialist coach ?
What do they do ?
Where do you find a good coach ?
How much do they generally cost ?
I think self development is important and would welcome any opportunity that results in an improvement in my marketability.
Thanks !!Comment
