I know it's supply & demand and the market dictates rates, but at the same time I just think clients or employers who are trying to get skilled resources at these ridiculous rates just because they can, should be ashamed of themselves. If you don't have anything nice to say, say it sarcastically -
Interesting the relatively high amount of people on here talking about permanent jobs.
Trying to get my head round if there will be a school holiday slump this year.Comment

Don't think £100 a day (so £24,000 a year) is enough to get someone via the ICT scheme.Originally posted by Peoplesoft bloke View PostIsn't that just one of those "post this ad so we can get an ICT" ones?merely at clientco for the entertainmentComment

If you can do it, it might only take two hours a day. Worth educating the agent or extracting the urine. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment

I am going permie - there is zero future for contracting in my specialist area - there's a twin-pronged attack going on - from the software house who want to control everything and assure their income stream and the effects of the IR35 changes. Add the virus and contracting is a no-hope for me for the foreseeable - especially as I don't see the point in inside IR35 "contracting" - that's not even contracting in my view.Originally posted by SussexSeagull View PostInteresting the relatively high amount of people on here talking about permanent jobs.

After speaking with a colleague, long-term contractor at my current client, and hearing from him how much they pay our permie counterparts, I'm seriously considering asking the client to make me permanent (or at least mention that I'd be interested).
All I see in my market is fewer contracts and lower rates so it's not looking good.Comment
