Not actively looking, but had 3 roles sent to me via email in last month or so (good rates, 700+ umbrella). This is for FS.
Also notice few more (BA) roles (5-10 per day, admittedly some rubbish) appearing on LI
Over the summer you would be lucky to see 5 a week.

There are roles out there, but a lot of the Banks shuffle people internally rather than going out to market. In that respect a huge advantage to be already on board, even rubbish internal candidates seem to be favoured over good external ones!

This just popped in my LI feed: ERP Data Lead, outside IR35, 6m+ £550-£600

Using SAP S/4 Hana. Remote with occasional trip to office in London.

I'd like to see the amount of applications for that positions and also how many random people with no skills apply.

"Can you provide a reference to cover this period?". Yeah, all those people I was not allowed to hang out with and did not see, they can vouch for me. Idiot.
I honestly think all this promotes is to lie on the CV and get a friend to provide reference. The reality of the question and answer seems to provide no alternate solution.

I saw another outside role yesterday on LI paying £150 per day.... they get away with this as lots will take it and rates are being driven down as clients trying it on seeing how low they can go as it is a buyer's market...

Funnily enough I see a couple of wannabe influencers with largish following on LinkedIn are saying they have lost a load of contacts overnight. Maybe LinkedIn have had a cull?

I was going to say at least it is outside but you still need to fund a Ltd with accountancy fees, insurance, etc.

I was told "since you worked with us before, I am going to transfer documents so you do not have to re-upload them" Five minutes later an email arrived in my inbox with a link to... document re-upload page. Recruiters haven't changed, they just have fewer contracts to offer.
That is right. Between contracts your business has been conducting business as usual - looking for more customers. During gaps in contracts I have continued to draw a salary from my business, so not even unemployed!

Yes, I saw someone I'm connected to who had over 100,000 Linkedin followers say they had lost several thousand in one go.

I checked my own account today and I lost about 2% of my followers. Apparently it's not just dormant or suspected bot accounts, people have said connections they know well and engage with have also disappeared.

LinkedIn is owned by MSFT so my expectations are low. I lost around 100 contacts. It seems like LI have unleashed their AI bot pruner, with predictable results.

It might be AI related another way. LinkedIn updated their terms of service to say that they can harvest your posts to feed into their LLM, so some people have deleted their accounts to prevent that.
