SC Cleared BUT may end up with a Conviction for S2 Harassment !! Advice Please !!

    Hi all,
looking for some advice from anyone out there. I currently have SC Clearance and have held since 23rd April last year ( due for renewal 2019 i believe). I wont go into details but i am due in court under a charge of S2 POA - The Protection from Harassment Act 1997 , purely for having an argument with a chap a couple of times all over my Sons Football and defending him basically!!! Needless to say i am due to go on trial January next year and wondered what would happen/what i should do if i am convicted of this offence ( which i am not guilty of of course). Will the company i am working for be informed via the aftercare procedure that they carry out once you are SC cleared? Do i have to tell my Sponsor/Security Officer on the job i am currently working on or will they be notified automatically should i be found guilty and be convicted ? It says i am due for review every 5 years so do i have to inform them on the review date only ?
Any help or advice in this matter would be greatly appreciated?

Sounds like half a story? What were the full details? The Gladiators here are sharpening their swords, so beware.
I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Read my lips...I recommend QDOS for ALL your Insurance requirements (Contact me for a referral code).

Check the paperwork you completed. I believe it should say something like
"I undertake to promptly notify the XXX Vetting Office of any material changes in my personal circumstances."

Your best bet is to contact the vetting agency that granted your clearance in the first place and ask them for advice. The contact details should be on the letter you received confirming your clearance ad been granted.

Did you read the SC sticky? Same advice that has been given over and over will apply whatever the situation you are in.

Thanks guys for all the prompt responses. NorthernLadUK i have gone through the SC sticky and get the jist of the way things work re SC clearance and how certain convictions have more of an effect on your SC clearance than others but there doesnt seem to be a section/part that advises on what the repercussions are once youve gained SC clearance and then end up with a conviction/what action should i take (inform the Customer or my SC Officer e.t.c). I am not employed by my sponser but am seconded on their contract by my employer (if that makes sense). Also i notice the advice i have seen is regarding spent convictions and getting SC clearance but there doesnt seem to be anywhere that advises what to do when you have clearance but then get a conviction. Excuse me if im sounding a but thick here guys

Ill break it down as best as i can - I have a number of witnesses re the S2 POA/Harassment Offence that i am being accused of . There has to be 2 clear cut times/occasions. I contacted him via a mobile phone call and he is saying i said one thing whereas i have my own story of what went on ( i rang him after he managed a team that his Son played for who played my Sons team and all the way through it both him and his wife goaded the referee to book my Son, basically bullying him all the way through the game . The referee under pressure did so and my Son got really upset and i had to console him as he was crying e.t.c.).My phone call inolved me asking him if he had a problem with my Son and he basically fobbed me off. I told him we needed to resolve this as adults/grownups and he seemed to take it the wrong way ). I Then i attended a cup final that his team were involved in but made no contact with him whatsoever and was invited by other colleagues and the manager of my Sons football team to watch. I merely watched the final and then left ( not even going within 50 yards of this chap). I was also at a tournament where my Sons team progressed to the Semi Final and then the final. Both the complainant, His Wife ( who is a real gobby person and horrible ) and his Son were at the tournament. His Son got knocked out of the tournament but they chose to stay and Cheer for the other teams we played and basically goad my Son and e.t.c. We lost the final and when the other team scored they were all jumping up and down e.t.c . My Son also seemed affected by this. Once the match ended i walked over to him and spoke with him regarding upsetting my Son and my partner. I told him the sillyness e.t.c ended now and that i didnt want to be inolved in all this anymore. My Sons manager them came over and told me to not both as they werent worth it. We then proceeded to take down our event shelter and he was stood literally 5 to 10 yards away talking to a couple of people i knew.He put in his statement that i threatened him and was abusive and feared for his life. I have a decent solicitor and have had to pay in excess of £1600 to cover my case. I also have 4 witnesses, 2 of which will back up my story and will also vouch for the fact that if he feared for his life why after i spoke to him was he stood literally 5 yards away minutes later !!! mad
Sorry to waffle on ...just wanted to give you more of a breakdown on the circumstances.
I also made a complaint to the FA as did he apparently but nothing has come of it.
I never once threatened him with violence ...... even my solicitor says its silly it has gone this far
