But to answer your question, my accountant has saved me money. Maybe I could have worked it all out, but it would have spent more time learning that and less time focusing on growing my business.
I agree with you, I will get an accountant.
The reason i had doubts was that i talked to one and it was crap, so that risen some eyebrows. I now, I think, have found a proper one.
    Thanks

Not all accountants cost £100 a month.

There are enough threads on here with different accountant recommendations giving their costs.

          For me time = money.

Now I don't know what your contract rate is, but if it takes more than 20 hours per year for me to be my own accountant I am saving money already by paying someone else to do it, not to mention the money that specialist knowledge can potentially save on top, and the comfort of knowing I can't mess it up.

              Exactly this.

It's quite possible to work without an accountant, or go for a basic "execution only" service. There are reasons for doing this but cost saving is not one of them. Once you have put the effort in it will easily have cost you more in time, or if you don't put the effort it then it will end up costing you in penalties and time.

Don't forget there is always being able to drop the phrase 'my accountant' when talking with mates as well. Worth having one just for that alone.

I bet you believe that you don't have to do a Self Assessment and don't need to register for VAT once you reach the threshold, because you are a small company... right?

Why do you need to do a self assessment?
