    Websites

    Hi all,

I know some of you have websites for your company but do you put it on your CV? I've never seen a company website on a contractors CV.

I thought it would be good to show.

    Thanks

Not on mine, but my email address is and you could derive it from there.

Or with a few key words in Google you'd find me from the CV.

If I was in website development then I'd put it on there in more detail.

Why would it be good to show it?

If your CV was i n electronic format having URLs on it makes sense however as most people print them out it doesn't.

How many contractor's CVs have you seen?

I have it on mine, mainly to advertise my Plan B.

Around 50, ranging from Dev to PM. I would have thought that you'd want to show your publications, blogs, articles, services, previous customers etc from your company.

So, assuming there are around 100,000 contractors, you only have another 99,950 to see

I put mine on - I'm sure it gets stripped most of the time, but I try to keep things unified and 'corporate' - plus its got my blog (Not much on it admittedly) and and my Plan B which I'm proud of and is directly relevent to Plan A.

it's in the footer next to my Linked In profile so it doesn't steal any real space.

Not to be cruel but you are a professional contractor. Unless your skills are directly related to websites, who apart from your mum, will look for it? Spammers, potential lovers, website fetishists? Don't for a moment think agents or employers are going to trawl (or look) at websites to gain candidate knowledge.

I should but don't have a company website. The header on my CV contains a link to my fairly active technical blog. My company domain points to the same place, for now.

Although I wouldn't expect potential clients to attach great weight to it, and the agency likely strips it out anyway, the blog does demonstrate my skills. If I were about to interview somebody, I would probably visit their blog out of curiosity.

Anybody recommend a good website authoring company ? With examples.
